I'm a big fan of using form including pantoums (and isn't it a fabulous word!) I find they crystallise my thoughts in way I don't experience with free verse. Looking forward to playing with pantoums this week!
Argh, you can blame almost anything on flu, awful. Hope you are recovering ok? LOTS of rest. And also, you are more than welcome to share on this post too. I just didn't want anyone to miss out on your poetry x
Thank you 💛. I'm a little discouraged by how much sleeping we're all doing (it got 5/8 of my family), and how easily I get puffy and exhausted, even just taking the dog down the block. It's nuts!
I'm thinking of trying another pantoum today with another existing "problem child" poem.
I was feeling quite eager to get started but my brain was a little empty, so I took an older poem that I've been fiddling with for months and put the lines I liked best in a little bit of order, and then followed the pattern. It was so satisfying to plug the lines in--technical and yet mesmerizing. Thanks again, Nelly and Nancy!
Oh amazing Margaret. I have been musing on where to start (again) today. With old material in new orders or trying to write a new poem in that form. I'll go see how you've done it. On Friday I'll do another sharing post, if you fancied putting this link over there I'm sure others would love to read it too (they might not end up coming back here) xx
I love writing pantoums 🤩 they can be so fun and so powerful
I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s words on this one 🙏

I can’t believe I’ve never tried it. I can’t wait
I love pantoums! I’ve written a couple in the past but I’m excited to try again this week ❤️
I’ve also found recently that I can get a lot out of bits and pieces I jot down on my phone over time. Keen to give this prompt a try.
How exciting to see pantoum in the wild today! And happy to see so many kindred spirits here in the comments—
I write a pantoum every day!
I fell in love with the form at some point in the 90s and haven’t run out of awe and appreciation for this sweetly surprising form.
I share pantoum prompts with all of my classes where there is always someone new falling in love with the form.
I frequently share my writing here: https://lisettemurphy.substack.com/
Ooo I love this one. So excited to get going on this!
I've never written one before but I am definitely going to try one now!! Thank you :)
Let’s figure out how to do one together x
Yes!! That'd be great!!
I’ve saved this to come back to, deeply excited by an invitation into this form
Wonderful, so glad x
I’m in! 😊
Oo, looking forward to this
I don’t remember writing this exact form before.
Love a pantoum! Looking forward to adding Dreaming in Poetry into the Library.
Ha! Oops, I completely forgot that it was Friday to share. We’re recovering from the flu so I’m going to blame it on that 🫠
