It’s an interesting poem. Not one I would have been automatically drawn to. But I did find it intriguing, and one I think on each read will reveal more. It does make a good prompt. It will be an interesting challenge for this week. Thank you for sharing.
I have to admit the poem makes me feel very simple because the words and images feel elevated and a little above my reach in places. But I love the subject and approach - the 8 ways of looking - especially because we are spending this week on vacation and near water. I plan to revisit the poem as I look at our own water views from different locations. Definitely gives me something to chew on more!
Oooo this a poem a teacher would pull out the bag to really get your brain working 🫶🏼🤣 I will try to scribble some ideas into notes for this because god damn it Nelly you’ve whetted my appetite! ✍️
Hmm, what IS the deal with 4a and 4b? I can’t figure it out but it does help me feel a bit of permission to break a format, to have an interruption in the order of things - which feels freeing! Another great prompt, Nelly. Thank you so much for the work you are putting into this for us all! See you on Friday ;)
Thank you. I know, I’ve read it again and again and I’m no clearer. But you are so right, it does give that permission to break a format. Ooh that’s interesting in itself isn’t it. Following that thread......

Yes. Indeed. I keep finding more each time. X
This is just gorgeous. Love the format! Also I think I need to remember male poets too...xo
Interesting poem, sadly very few spoons this week so won’t be contributing. But hopefully next I will be on the up again.
Hope so Tamsin. Until next week x
This was such a good prompt 🤩 it’s taken me well over an hour but what a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning - thank you 🙏
We were both busy scribbling at the same time this morning. This made me smile. Did you grab the start of something? X
Oh I love that 💖
I’ve got the bones of one - I’m excited to tinker about with it and share on Friday

Also, thank you for your honesty. It makes everyone feel less alone.
Oh some are so above my reach Colleen. I’ve jumped up ten times to try and grab them then given up and decided to just write some of my own instead 🤣
Really interesting poem - I've never encountered this style before. Definitely one to try in my own writing.

Tee hee. Drop everything and grab a pen, you know you want to 🤣🤣
