‘Ask whether someone snatched it or stole it. Report the crime to yourself’ - yes yes!! I always wince when I see ‘confidence building courses for women’ as if they don’t acknowledge the systems that stole it then that whole narrative is part of the problem. Brilliant poem Nelly. Thanks for sharing xx
Thank you so much. Yes me too. I'm about to start reading 'fix the system not the women' by Laura Bates which I imagine will be all about this very thing. Have you read it? xx
I absolutely love your poem and instructions poems and this Ada Limon! Also @Joy Sullivan's Instructions on Travelling West. I think I might need to write something along the lines "Instructions on surviving the week". All love Nelly xo
I love your poem, Nelly, and I love Joy Sullivan’s book, it seems to follow me around the house. Currently it is sitting on the dining room table! I missed the circle, I’ve been really sick these past few weeks.

I haven’t - it sounds great! x
I love your poem, Nelly (and also the one by Ada Limòn). Poems like this give me a jolt of joy.
Thank you Margaret xx
Really loved thisnone, Nelly. My confidence has taken a nose dive recently - so thanks for sharing this 💗
I know those times well 🫤. Hopefully the other side is on the horizon xx

Haha, please can you and then send it to me to follow???
I wrote one of these instruction poems. 'instructions for life when your heart is on fire'. It's a beautiful thing to do
Is it on your Substack? I'd love to read it if it is out in the world? x
I so can not wait for you next book 🙌
I need to hear this. Thank you. It means a lot xxx
I love the instruction to just keep on stroking down that road with the no entry sign. We've been restricted and excluded far too bloody long.

Loved this. I think my word would be ‘Optimism’ 🌈
Report the crime to yourself !!! Absolutely brilliant 🤩
